Title: Sleep Isn't Just Rest – It's Brain Maintenance! 🧠🛏️
Hey everyone,
So lately I’ve been trying to fix my sleep schedule (again 😅), and while reading about it, I stumbled upon something super interesting that I had to share.
Did you know that while you're sleeping, your brain is basically doing a deep clean?
Seriously — there's this system called the glymphatic system (not a typo, it's “glymphatic,” not lymphatic) that kicks into high gear when you're asleep. Its main job? Flushing out toxins and waste that build up in your brain during the day. One of those toxins is beta-amyloid, which is linked to Alzheimer's disease. 😳
So when people say, “Sleep is important,” it’s not just about feeling rested — your brain is literally cleaning itself. No wonder I feel like garbage when I only get a few hours of sleep. My brain’s probably still full of yesterday’s junk!
Anyway, just thought that was cool — and also a great excuse to get more sleep. 😴
Until next time,
